Hydrotherapy is a form of exercise therapy performed in a warm-water pool, designed to support rehabilitation, pain management, and functional movement in a safe and supportive environment. The properties of water help reduce the load on joints and muscles, allowing movement that may be difficult or uncomfortable on land.
At Reach Beyond Exercise Physiology, hydrotherapy programs are individually designed to suit each client’s needs, goals, and abilities. Sessions may focus on improving strength, mobility, balance, coordination, and cardiovascular fitness, while also supporting confidence and independence in movement.
The warmth and buoyancy of the water can assist in reducing pain, muscle tension, and stiffness, making hydrotherapy suitable for people managing chronic conditions, injuries, neurological conditions, post-surgical recovery, or reduced mobility. Exercises are progressed at a pace that is safe, achievable, and aligned with clinical recommendations.
Hydrotherapy may be delivered as a standalone service or combined with land-based exercise programs to support ongoing improvement and long-term outcomes. Services are available for private clients as well as those accessing NDIS, Medicare, DVA, or other eligible funding options.
